Latino Community Center in Pittsburgh

The Segal Family Foundation supports the Latino Community Center in Pittsburgh with strategic capacity building.

The Latino Community Center empowers, advocates with and celebrates Latinos in Allegheny County so that all Latinos are valued and have equal and equitable access to opportunities. We serve the Latino Community by providing high quality supplemental educational opportunities, case management, workforce readiness, legal and medical referrals, and support adapting to life in the United States.

The overall population of Allegheny County continues to decline with the exception of immigrants and newcomers. According to demographic projections, the Latino community population will continue on an upward trend throughout the next 5 years. Educated and prepared Latinos like all Allegheny County residents will be a crucial resource to filling the 80,000-job gap that has been reported by the Allegheny Conference.

The LCC focuses services and programs around members of the Latino community by serving their diverse and personal needs as well as anticipating future hurdles.  Many of the community members served are new to Pittsburgh and have a significant challenge with assimilation. The LCC focuses primarily on programming around education and case management support and secondarily on advocacy.
